F9: Behind The Scenes
The longest F&F movie
F9 is the longest movie in The Fast Saga (2 hours and 25 minutes), compared to Furious 7 (2015) and Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw (2019). Both of them ran for 137 minutes (2 hours and 17 minutes) each. F9 (alternatively known as Fast & Furious 9) is an upcoming American action film directed by Justin Lin (on Better Luck Tomorrow (2002), the Fast & Furious franchise from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) to Fast & Furious 6 (2013), and Star Trek Beyond (2016)). It is the sequel to The Fate of the Furious (2017), the ninth main installment, and the tenth full-length film released overall in the Fast & Furious franchise. F9 is also the first film since Fast & Furious 6 (2013) to be directed by Lin.
The first season of Amazon s adaptation of Robert Kirkman s
Invincible concluded last week with a jaw-dropping finale, and the WatchMojo YouTube channel counts down the show s top 10 most brutal moments in their latest video.
The adult animated series did not skimp on the bloodshed, and while the violence wasn t particularly relentless or gratuitous, when it was shown, it was downright gruesome. However, this countdown doesn t just focus on the gore, as it also spotlights some of the emotional or dramatic moments that hit hardest.
SPOILERS
Of course, Omni-Man s decimation of the League of Heroes from the first episode and his heartbreaking battle with Mark in the finale are included, so if you haven t watched the show yet, best to skip this video until later!
Little Women Greta Gerwig followed up her stunning directorial debut,
Lady Bird, with this kinetic, colourful and wonderfully alive adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel. Saoirse Ronan is splendid as the protagonist Jo March, while Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern and Timothee Chalamet all do astounding supporting work. Gerwig’s secret weapon is the way she scrambles the plot; rather than separating their childhoods and adulthoods into two chapters chronologically, as it plays out in the novel, she intersperses each timeline with flashbacks and flash-forwards, creating a powerful sense of nostalgia for the childhood scenes and a beautifully emotional sense of coming of age in the adult scenes. Have tissues handy.
The plot is pretty much the exact same - evil invaders from another dimension want to challenge Earth s best fighters, with the stake of the entire planet on the line - but we all know we re here for the brilliant fight scenes, and the latest interpretations of some of our favourite video game characters of all time.
One of those is the iconic Sub-Zero, this time played by Joe Taslim (The Raid, Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Beyond), and we had the opportunity to chat to him ahead of the movie s release.
