Casper Man Denies Assaulting Pregnant Woman
A Casper man on Friday morning denied allegations that he assaulted a pregnant woman.
Jackie Lee Carabajal Jr. pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault, second offense domestic battery within five years and interference with an emergency call during a hearing in Natrona County District Court.

Carabajal is charged in a separate case involving the same victim. He hasn t had an opportunity to answer to those charges.
Court documents in Friday s case describe an incident in which a therapist called police and said the alleged victim feared Carabajal and that she felt trapped. Carabajal reportedly took the victim s car keys and purse so she couldn t leave.
Cameron Hopper is charged with possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent, theft and unlawful contact.
The most serious charge, possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent, is punishable by up to five years behind bars.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Casper police began investigating a reported theft at roughly 2 a.m. Dec. 19.
The affidavit states that Hopper attempted to sell a .22 revolver earlier in the evening. The alleged victim reportedly considered buying it but took his money back.
Later that night, a woman and the alleged victim gave Hopper a ride back to an apartment. When they arrived, Hopper reportedly got out of the vehicle and walked around to where the alleged victim was sitting in the front passenger s seat. The alleged victim reportedly told police that he thought Hopper was going to thank him for the ride, court documents state.
Casper Auto Burglary Leads to Meth, Child Endangerment Charges
An investigation into an auto burglary led to methamphetamine charges for two Casper residents, and an additional child endangerment with methamphetamine charge for one.
Tonya King is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, felony theft, child endangerment with methamphetamine and giving a false statement to a pawnbroker in Natrona County District Court.

Kenneth J. Latham is charged with burglary, felony theft, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of a controlled substance in the same alleged incident.
Neither King nor Latham has had an opportunity to enter pleas to the charges.
Former Casper WCDA Director Ordered to Pay $8K in Restitution
A former Casper Wyoming Community Development Authority head on Wednesday was ordered to pay more than $8,000 in restitution after abusing federal funding.
Gayle Scarborough was ordered to serve a 1- to 3-year probation sentence. Should she successfully complete probation, her charges will be deferred.
Scarborough will pay $8,347 to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Her attorney, Craig Silva, said Scarborough already has the money to pay the restitution.

The investigation began in early December 2015 after a whistleblower contacted a special agent with the U.S. Department of Urban Development inspector general s office, alleging that federal money administered by Scarborough at WCDA was being used to further fraud in the state.
