The claim: Lunar eclipse, blood moon and supermoon will all be visible May 26; moon this day will be closest to the Earth
For backyard astronomers and space enthusiasts alike, May 26 marks a special day to see something quite unusual in the night sky. The world will witness, Lunar Eclipse, Blood Moon & Super Moon all together, claims a May 25 Facebook post below images of an eerie blood-red moon.
If these three incredible phenomena aren t enough, the post also claims the usually bright-white moon will be the closest it will ever be to Earth for this year.
As many in various parts of the world such as Hawaii, Australia and East Asia can attest, a looming red orb against a dark backdrop is a real sight. This claim is correct, with one slight asterisk on the definition of a blood moon.

It s understood the Council officials have sought further clarification around this issue.
The May meeting of the local municipal district heard today that the Council may proceed to progress the project which is intended to be essential for the growth of Newbridge town.
It is December 21, 2020, the night of the Great Conjunction. For the first time since the 1600s, Jupiter and Saturn will be the closest to each other they’ve ever been. NASA says you’ll be able to cover both of them at the same time with the tip of your pinky. Issa has met someone else. It’s too complicated, he says, You and me. It’s impossible. Which of course, I’ve always known.
In an hour I am up for my yearly employee review. I am a copywriter. It’s been a year since I wrote for myself. I am supposed to fill out a form. A self assessment of strengths and weaknesses. I have done so much self reflection this year, and yet feel so little like myself. People are getting sick and dying, here and all over the world. People are going out to restaurants and shopping malls anyways.
Cassini’s ‘grand finale’
Cassini launched on Oct. 15, 1997, as a joint venture among NASA, the European Space Agency and Italy’s space agency, carrying a probe called Huygens that would be used to study Saturn’s largest moon, Titan.
It took almost seven years for Cassini to arrive at Saturn, where it spent about 13 years in the planet’s orbit.
After completing multiple missions over almost 20 years in space, Cassini was running low on rocket fuel used to adjust course in its orbit of Saturn. To avoid Cassini potentially crashing into one of the planet’s two moon’s that have shown “potential to contain habitable – or at least prebiotic – environments,” the decision was made to send Cassini into Saturn, according to NASA.
The first quarter of the year is over, and many cosmic events had occurred. However, it s still only just the first quarter. There are two more. Here are some of the astronomical events everyone should look forward to witnessing in the 2nd quarter of 2021.
