A mum tried to smuggle £6,000 of cannabis to a prisoner as they embraced and kissed .
Tanya Miller, who is heavily pregnant with her eighth child, was spared jail but the man she tried to pass the drugs to was jailed.
Lewis Spink appeared via video link from the prison at Mold Crown Court on Thursday. The 30-year-old, previously of Great King Street in Macclesfield, had admitted conveying cannabis into HMP Berwyn in October 2019. Co-accused Tanya Miller, aged 37 and of Grinsdale in Carlisle, had initially denied the same offence but changed her plea to guilty in March this year - a week before her trial date. She had previously admitted an additional charge of possessing cannabis. Dafydd Roberts, prosecuting, told the court that while a serving inmate at the prison, Spink was visited by Miller on October 14, 2019. During that visit, a package was observed being passed from her to him when they embraced.

OUSA said “fuck it, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”
Otago University Student’s Association (OUSA) is converting the space above University Book Shop, on Great King Street, into six separate apartments.
A resource consent from the DCC showed that OUSA will build three two-bedroom apartments and three one-bedroom apartments in the space. Pretty much every student critic spoke to was pissed about this.
One student was “annoyed” by the move. “This is the first time I’ve heard of OUSA actually doing something and it’s potentially in conflict with my interests.” Another said “I think they should spend the money we give them on our interests rather than their own.”
