2020 has forced a swathe of pubs to call time
The coronavirus crisis has impacted on every business throughout the UK; but few have been hit as hard as those in the hospitality sector, and particularly the pub and bar operators who have been left battered and bruised as blows rained down from all sides.
Ever since that dark day in March when the Prime Minister told pubs they had to close, most have faced hurdle after hurdle to get back to some form of business. After the initial heady rush of Government support, the taps have been steadily turned off. In the face of ever tightening restrictions, the state payouts have failed to meet even the most basic of costs. Pubs have been left to struggle with mounting debt and limited ways to earn a crust.
