AP reader in new BBC photography show

Celebrity and portrait shooter, Rankin, is hosting a photography show on BBC Four and iPlayer this summer, called The Great British Photography Challenge. Six contestants will undertake a range of themed weekly challenges across the UK, and although an eventual winner will be chosen, none will be eliminated.

Each episode starts with a challenge to deliver a winning picture in just one hour, using a smartphone. Contestants also undertake specific projects with a “celebrity expert” in a specialist area, including wildlife photographer and TV stalwart Chris Packham, and street shooter Lamarr Golding.

The celebrity photographer is appearing in new BBC Four series The Great British Photography Challenge.

The celebrated snapper has won plaudits for his intimate portraits of high-profile figures including the Queen, Madonna and David Bowie.
Rankin said: “Being a part of the Great British Photography Challenge has been an incredible opportunity to nurture the next generation of photographers.
The photographer will mentor six amateur photography talents from across the UK, alongside celebrity guests and leading creatives such as Chris Packham, Lamarr Golding, Anna Friel and Cheryl Konteh.
