The Good:
Since I retired in 2007, Jim and I have traveled each year for a month or so during âmud season,â with the exception of last year. We have a 24-foot travel trailer that accompanies us. We have created a lot of memories over the years and one day when we can no longer travel, we will look back on our adventures and smile.
Each year we try to expand our horizons by visiting places that we have never been to before. Our good friends, Bill and Joyce May, met us in Holbrook, Arizona, and spent three days with us as we explored the area along Route 66. A highlight was Petrified Forest National Park, fossil trees that were alive more than 200 million years ago and a vast landscape of colorful badlands. Of course we had to stop in âStandinâ on the Corner in Winslow, Arizona.â The corner was made famous by the song âTake it Easyâ which was a huge hit for the classic rock band the Eagles.
