The Banaras Hindu University on Wednesday claimed that it had not taken any decision to appoint philanthropist and Reliance Industries Limited Non-Executive Director Nita Ambani as a visiting professor, reported ANI. The statement came a day after more than 40 students protested outside Vice Chancellor Rakesh Bhatnagar’s residence and submitted a memorandum.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 17 (ANI): Reliance Industries Limited on Wednesday said that the news on a proposal to make Reliance Industries Executive Director Nita Ambani a visiting professor at Banaras Hindu University is false.
Reliance Industries Limited spokesperson told ANI that the news is fake adding that no proposal or invitation to make her visiting lecturer of BHU has been received nor has it been extended to Nita Ambani from the university.
Several media houses had reported that students staged a demonstration at Banaras Hindu University on Tuesday opposing a proposal to make Nita Ambani a visiting professor. (ANI)

Nita Ambani, Chairperson and Founder of the Reliance Foundation, has not received any invitation to become a visiting lecturer at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Reliance Industries said on Wednesday.
Several news reports claimed on Wednesday that BHU s Social Sciences Faculty sent a proposal to Reliance Foundation, asking Nita Ambani to join the university as a visiting faculty at their Women Study Centre. However, a Reliance Industries Limited spokesperson told ANI that Mrs Ambani hasn t received an invitation from BHU.

Amid reports of Reliance Industries executive director Nita Ambani visiting the Banaras Hindu University, a spokesperson of the company has confirmed Ambani has not received any invitation from the university.
