LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said the prime minister’s vision of providing roof to the shelterless has been materialised by the Punjab government as banks and the public sector have joined hands to provide residential facilities to the common man.
He was addressing a ceremony for the signing of a Rs10 billion agreement between Lahore Development Authority and the Bank of Punjab at his office.

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has set up a dedicated directorate for fast track execution of a project for the construction of 4,000 residential units in the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments.
LDA Director General Ahmed Aziz Tarar, on Monday, highlighted that the newly established ‘Directorate of Housing XII’ will function under the administrative control of the additional director general (urban planning). The new directorate will be responsible for sales, marketing and estate management of the apartments.
An officer of grade 19 will be posted as director and one of grade 18 as deputy director. In addition to this, two grade 17 officers will be posted as assistant directors in this directorate besides other requisite staff for its functioning.

Dozens of contractors and engineering firms have expressed their interest in LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments and other mega projects in the city.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA), on Saturday, opened tenders for the constriction of 768 residential apartments under Package-II of the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments scheme. Eleven contracting companies, including National Logistic Cell (NLC), Progressive International, Tetra Engineering, Yasin Brothers, Zareef Khan and Co, GPL, and CAE JV, had submitted their proposals for the construction of 24 blocks having 32 apartments each.
LDA Governing Body Technical Member Engineer Amir Riaz Qureshi monitored the tender opening process along with Chief Engineer Abdul Razzaq Chohan, Finance Director Muhammad Akhtar and Audit Director Javed Akhtar.
A pre-bid conference of contractors interested in the construction of 4,000 units under the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments scheme will be held on Monday at the Lahore Development Authority Office.
