Deposits in Roshan Digital Accounts soar to US$ 1 25 billion

The Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs) have emerged as a dependable, secure, and profitable banking solution and mode of investment for Overseas Pakistanis as over 160,000 Pakistanis from 170 Countries have invested US$1.25 billion so far in the RDAs launched by the State Bank of Pakistan last year for the 9 million Pakistanis living abroad.

Daily Times May 9, 2021 After a rigorous process of monitoring and inspection over a few months to ensure protection of customer interest, State Bank of Pakistan (BoP) gave its approval to The Bank of Punjab (BoP) to launch “First Free” Roshan Digital Account (RDA) for BoP to join an elite group of Banks to launch this Digital Initiative for the Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs). Roshan Digital Account is a revolutionary initiative spearheaded by the State Bank of Pakistan. For the first time in Pakistan’s history, NRPs are being provided an opportunity to remotely open and operate Bank accounts in Pakistan through an entirely digital and online proposition. RDA has attracted over $1 billion in a relatively short period of time. INDIA New England News Imran Khan Islamabad– Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday announced two new schemes for overseas Pakistanis who have Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA). In an event held here at the capital, the premier thanked Governor State Bank Reza Baqir for his role in bringing about the two schemes; Roshan Apni Car and Roshan Samaji Khidmat, the Geo TV reported. The Prime Minister instructed the government to seek Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen’s help, saying that the minister was an expert in when it came to the marketing aspect of products and assets. The premier urged his economic team to keep thinking of “out-of-the-box” solutions to support Pakistan’s economy till its exports does not come at par with its imports.
