Jamie Symmonds, a lifelong Lewiston resident and entrepreneur, is seeking election to the Niagara County Legislature in the 2
nd District, comprised parts of Lewiston and Wheatfield. Symmonds, a registered Democrat, was recently endorsed by the Niagara County Democratic Committee and the WNY Working Families Party. Jamie’s community involvement over the past 15 years includes that of being a small business owner for ten years, volunteering for local events, fundraisers, festivals, and chairing local committees. She succeeded in creating and organizing the Lewiston Artisan Farmers Market, which has proven to be a huge success for the region over the past three years. NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) â Niagara County leaders are upset over the state s most recent vaccine allocation to the health department.
Niagara County Legislature Chairman Becky Wydysh and Director of Public Health Dan Stapleton said it does not appear the county will get the 6,500 doses of the vaccine it requested from the state.
Stapleton said Niagara County requested 5,000 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and 1500 doses of the Moderna vaccine. The county only received 800 first doses of Moderna.
