LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Niagara County Department of Health is partnering with the Kenan Center in Lockport to conduct point of dispensing operations throughout the month of February.
âWe value our longstanding partnership with Kenan Center,â stated Daniel J. Stapleton Public Health Director. âWe have conducted five PODs at Kenan Center Arena so far and plan to conduct many more throughout the month of February,â
he added.
âWe have transitioned from drive-through to indoor PODs for the colder months, which has been very successful as we have completed over 2,600 vaccinations at Kenan Center Arena while also meeting functional needs of participants,â stated Elise Pignatora, Director of Public Health Planning and Emergency Preparedness.

The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County:
We regretfully report the deaths of three Niagara County residents. We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of these individuals.

118 new positive cases
1712 active cases (1683 isolating at home, 29 in hospital)
11,356 recovered

Cuomo: UK variant of COVID-19 found in Niagara County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â New York Govenor Andrew Cuomo announced additional cases of the UK variant of COVID-19 have been found in several New York counties including Niagara County. Additional cases of the UK variant have been found in Long Island, New York City, Westchester, Saratoga, Tompkins, Niagara, Onondaga, Essex and Warren Counties, a release from the governor s office says.
On January 4 the governor announced a 60-year-old man from Saratoga County tested positive for the UK variant of COVID-19, the first in the state.
