Man, 19, stabbed to death during fight in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls Police are investigating after a man was stabbed to death during a fight Thursday night. A City of Niagara Falls spokesperson says police responded to reports of a large group fight in the area of 16th Street and Weston Avenue around 10 p.m. When officers arrived, the fight was over, but they saw a man who had been stabbed laying on the ground. An AMR ambulance crew and the Niagara Falls Fire Department responded to the scene. They treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he later died.

(WKBW) — Niagara Falls police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Thursday night. Officers responded to the area of 16th Street and Weston Avenue around 10:00 p.m. for the report of a large fight and a man on the ground bleeding. Officials say 19-year-old Xavier Travis of Niagara Falls was stabbed. He was treated at the scene and transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he later died. Anyone with information is asked to call Niagara Falls Police Department Detectives at 716-286-4553.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to Offer Suicide Prevention Workshops By: Staff Reporter One American every 11 minutes dies by suicide. Although it’s a leading cause of death, nobody wants to talk about it. Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is launching a lifesaving initiative that hopes to change that. The suicide prevention project, called “Know the Signs,” will conduct free informational workshops at sites across Niagara Falls in hopes of reducing the stigma of discussing suicide and teaching an evidence-based method of preventing it. The project is supported by a federal CARES Act grant administered by the City of Niagara Falls.

Mobile Clinic to Provide Essential Services to Medically Underserved Neighborhoods in Niagara Falls By: Staff Reporter The medical mainstay of downtown Niagara Falls will soon be offering essential healthcare services at neighborhoods across the city thanks to an innovative program being funded through  a city grant. The state Department of Health last week granted regulatory approval to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for the purchase of a mobile van in which to operate an extension clinic. Memorial will collaborate with community service agencies and other other organizations to provide primary care, nutritional counseling, women’s health services and COVID-19 testing and vaccinations using the specially designed, fully equipped mobile clinic.
