On September 29, Huawei began recruiting EMUI 11 beta testers among owners of the foldable Huawei Mate Xs smartphone. Now the manufacturer has begun distributing the stable version of EMUI 11 based on Android 11.
Initially, the stable version is available in China, beta testing of EMUI 11 in the rest of the world is still ongoing. According to the official timeline, global users of the Mate Xs smartphones will receive stable EMUI 11 in January 2021.
The new firmware has a version number of 11.0.0.165, it adds the high-speed transfer of large files, which has already appeared on smartphones such as Huawei P40, P30, Mate 40 and Mate 30, as well as Huawei Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro, smart payment mode, fixes app issues and includes November 2020 Android security fixes.

HUAWEI just announced Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro 5G smartphones in China. The Nova 8 packs a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate and houses a 32MP camera inside the punch-hole, and the 8 Pro pack a 6.72-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate and houses a 32MP ultra-wide camera along with a 16MP portrait camera inside the punch-hole. These are powered by Kirin 985 SoC with 8GB of RAM.
The phones use AG anti-glare glass technology on the back that reflects light at certain angles. These feature in-display fingerprint scanner, run Android 10 with EMUI 11 with HMS, pack 3800mAh and 4000mAh battery, respectively with 66W SuperCharge fast charging via USB Type-C.
DxOMark recently confirmed that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ has the best camera in the world with 139 points. This is 3 points higher than the previous best, Huawei Mate 40 Pro which toppled the Mi 10 Ultra to the number one spot. However, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra still remains the best in terms of zoom function. This latest ranking means that Chinese manufacturers now occupy the top 3 spots on DxOMark. However, the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro occupies fourth and fifth respectively.
According to DxOMark, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ generally leaves very little to complain about. The camera exposure is accurate and the dynamic range is wide. It captures good images with no noise in low-light environments. However, when shooting with indoor lighting, there seem to be some exposure instabilities.
