Mohegan Sun, Foxwood Casinos to partly reopen on June 1
Connecticut s two federally recognized tribes on Wednesday announced plans to begin reopening portions of their sprawling Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun attractions on June 1, despite calls from Gov. Ned Lamont to remain shuttered to prevent another wave of infections from the coronavirus.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced swimming will be allowed at state beaches on the shoreline when they reopen Friday, but swimming areas at inland state parks will be closed. Officials cited the limited size of the beach and swim areas at inland parks and social distancing rules.

Ark Restaurants Corp. (NASDAQ:ARKR) today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended October 3, 2020.
The Company’s fiscal year ends on the Saturday nearest September 30. Accordingly, the fiscal years ended October 3, 2020 and September 28, 2019 included 53 and 52 weeks, respectively and the quarters ended October 3, 2020 and September 28, 2019 contained 14 and 13 weeks, respectively. Having one more week in the fourth quarter and full year ended October 3, 2020 distorts the comparison of results with the prior year periods.

Mohegan Come 2021, live poker could be back on the table(s) at Mohegan Sun.
By New Year’s Day or shortly thereafter, Mohegan Sun expects to start dealing poker hands for the first time since mid-March, when the coronavirus pandemic forced the southeastern Connecticut casinos to shut down. When they reopened on a limited basis in June, poker, in which as many as 10 players huddle near a dealer, was considered too risky.
Now, Mohegan Sun believes it can make it safe.
“We’re waiting for the shields to come in,” Jeff Hamilton, Mohegan Sun’s president and general manager, said of plexiglass partitions that will separate Mohegan Sun poker players no more than seven of them per table from one another and from the dealer. “If the (Mohegan) health department deems it safe, our goal is to open up.

Foxwoods® Resort Casino is reporting slot revenue of $21.8 million for the month of November 2020. This results in a $5.4 million direct payment to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation s long-standing slot revenue contribution agreement. Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has deposited over $4 billion of Foxwoods slot revenue directly into the state s budget fund.
