May is National Barbecue Month and rightfully so as the warmer temperatures and COVID-19 have Americans spending more time outdoors with family and friends. And the perfect way to spend a Louisiana weekend is having delicious BBQ hot off the backyard grill.
Each part of the country does BBQ a little bit differently and as you expect, here in Louisiana, we do just about everything differently including our BBQ. We like our BBQ tangy, bold and wet with a kick. Even though the dry-rub technique is not out of the question, most of us leave the dry-rubbing to Memphis.
Be aware: the Benefit Information mailer disguised as a government program is a scam.
Well, maybe not a scam, but the business sending them appears to have questionable business practices, in my opinion.
These mailers have been making their rounds for the past few years, but it s a good idea to remind people that they aren t what they appear to be.
WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE
When you get one of these mailers in the mail (they come via United States Postal Service), they certainly do appear to be fashioned to look like something from the U.S. Government. Mail from the Internal Revenue Service arrives in a similar envelope.

REISTERSTOWN, BALTIMORE COUNTY â The Maryland Horse Foundation plans to open a horse library and education center in historic Reisterstown by the end of 2021. It will be the first of its kind and will honor the horse industry that plays a huge role in Maryland s economy.
The new library and education center will be located in a renovated building on Main Street, just up the hill from some of the state s most famous horse farms. It will feature memorabilia, rotating exhibits and focus on a variety of sports, including flat racing, steeplechasing, polo and more. The project hopes to strengthen the horse industry and become a hub for equine lovers, new riders and students.
