Kohima: Indian Air Force (IAF) resumed its operation with Mi-17 helicopters equipped with Bambi Bucket to douse the wildfire at Dzukou Valley near Kohima on Sunday.
According to media report four Mi-17 helicopters have been deployed at Dimapur and Rangapahar to tame the massive fire of Dzukou Valley which caught on December 29 last year. Indian Air Force helicopters resumed Bambi Bucket operations today towards dousing the fire in Dzukou Valley near Kohima. Four Mi-17 helicopters have been deployed at Dimapur & Rangapahar for the task: IAF, tweeted ANI.

Kohima/Imphal, Jan 3 : The Army, Indian Air Force (IAF), numerous state authorities, hundreds of volunteers accompanied by local people on Sunday continue to battle the raging week-long wildfire in the famed Dzukou Valley on the Nagaland and Manipur borders, officials said.

Over 200 acres of forestland on Mount Iso in Manipur have been reduced to ashes in the wildfire raging in the Dzukou Valley along the Manipur-Nagaland border since December 29, while joint operations by the Centre, state agencies and local volunteers to contain the blaze was scaled up manifold on Saturday.
