Arrests Made in Rash of Burglaries in Central Heights, Appleby Last week, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff s Office (NCSO) received multiple reports of burglaries of motor vehicles and thefts of firearms in and around the Appleby community. The suspects were targeting unlocked vehicles in residential neighborhoods. Cash and firearms were stolen in numerous incidences. During the investigation, detectives were able to develop a description of the suspects and their vehicle from surveillance cameras. On Saturday, June 19, another round of reports of motor vehicle break ins and firearms thefts came in, this time in the Central Heights, Pleasant Hill and Western Hills areas The suspects were again targeting unlocked vehicles in residential neighborhoods. Investigators believed that the suspects in the previous reports in the Appleby area were involved. This information was shared with other law enforcement agencies in the area.

Nacogdoches man arrested after being identified as a major distributor of narcotics

Updated: 3:45 PM CDT June 10, 2021 NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas On Wednesday, Nacogdoches County Sheriff has arrested one man on several felony narcotics charges, as well as unlawful possession of a handgun, after a months-long investigation.  Steve Polk, 40, was arrested after being identified as a major distributor of narcotics. Polk was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a 1st degree and 2nd-degree felony. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felony, Possession of a dangerous drug, class A misdemeanor, and no valid driver license along with no insurance. Intelligence information obtained by investigators revealed that Polk left Nacogdoches yesterday afternoon to the Houston area to resupply on narcotics.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation identified Jonathon Tillery as a main target of dealing large amounts of methamphetamine in the Etoile are and other parts of Nacogdoches County. The investigation also reviled information on Brett Taliaferro, from Lufkin, that he was also a major supplier of narcotics, supplying both Angelina and Nacogdoches Counties.
