PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. A Knoxville man is now facing charges for reckless endangerment and vandalism after shots rang out at a Pigeon Forge gas station in April during Rod Run weekend.
The Pigeon Forge Police Department said 22-year-old Chad Smith is charged in relation to the shooting, and had already been arrested in Knox County for an unrelated domestic assault.
PIGEON FORGE â Police have charged a Knoxville man in connection with firing shots during an altercation at a convenience store while the Spring Rod Run was going on last month.
Chad Louis Smith, 22, of Knoxville, is now facing charges of reckless endangerment and vandalism, Pigeon Forge Chief Richard Catlett said Thursday.
Several videos of the April 16 incident were shared on social media, as two groups appeared to be confronting each other in the parking lot of a Pilot gas station when shots were fired.
Police asked for the publicâs help in finding Smith, requesting copies of videos from the scene.

Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith says a drug investigation led deputies, along with other agencies, to search the home of 55-year-old Glenna Sue Mills on Hubbard Branch Road in Scalf for illegal drugs. Smith said deputies found a plastic baggie which contained five grams of suspected meth, along with a Suboxone strip, a glass pipe, a set of digital scales and more than $750 in cash. Deputies arrested Mills and charged her with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith said Mills was previously arrested in July 2020 on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Mills was taken to the Knox County Detention Center.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Sam Mullins responded to a report of an ATV theft at a residence on Michigan Avenue in Girdler. A 2007 Honda Forman ATV valued at $7000.00 had been stolen. The investigation led to 32-year-old Anthony Smith of Bimble. While looking for Smith investigators learned he had taken the ATV to the home of a family member on Swan Pond Road. Deputy Mullins recovered the stolen ATV there and obtained an arrest warrant for Smith. A few days later deputies caught up to Smith and took him into custody. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking and criminal trespassing. Smith was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
