The Knoxville High School Music Department will hold its annual Winter Concerts this evening. Band Director Meredith Tipping says band and choir performances will be split to allow for more spectator spacing for each concert.
“We’re doing separate concerts to keep our audience numbers down a little bit. Band is at 6:30 and choir is at 7:30. It’ll be jazz band, concert band, and both of the choirs as well. We are also planning on streaming the concerts. Those links can be found on the district website.”
To allow for the best distancing practices, the band will perform inside the high school gymnasium, and the choir will perform inside the Knoxville Performing Arts Center. Two people per participant will be allowed to attend. Click here for more information.

Concert band and jazz band will perform in the high school gymnasium at 6:30, and the choir will perform inside the Knoxville Performing Arts Center at 7:30. Despite the governor’s proclamation allowing a student’s entire household to attend, the performances will still be limited to two spectators per participant as per the district’s protocols. Those wanting to attend should have their student fill out an online form to confirm attendance, and ticketing will be separate for each concert. Video streaming will also be available.
