ABC has announced four new shows that will be coming to the network in the upcoming 2021-22 television season!
It’s currently upfronts week, which is when all of the networks finalize their renewals and cancellations, decide which new shows they’ll pick up, create their schedules for the upcoming season, and then present everything to advertisers.
Usually, upfronts week happens in New York City with all the network’s talent appearing on stage for the advertisers, but that didn’t happen this year or last year because of the pandemic.

If decades of awards acceptance speeches have taught us anything, it s that just like the rest of us, the number one person most actors really want to please is their mom.
But that s not always easy when the most exciting roles involve behavior you really don t want your mom to see you engaging in. Love scenes are awkward enough without having to picture your mother watching in the audience. It s not just sex and nudity that have landed actors in trouble at home, though. Turns out moms don t like watching their children being violently murdered, even when it s fake, but they also don t like seeing them play violent murderers. Even the filming process can be a cause of concern. Moms apparently don t care about suffering for your art as much as they care that you ate lunch.

ABC’s ’90s girl group has found its fourth member: My Name Is Earl vet Nadine Velazquez has joined the Alphabet network’s hip-hop drama pilot Queens, our sister site Deadline reports.
The potential series follows four women in their 40s who reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had as the ’90s hip-hop group Nasty Bitches. Velazquez’s character, Valeria, was known as the Puerto Rican rapper Butter Pecan. The other members of the quartet are played by Eve (Eve), Brandy (Moesha) and Naturi Naughton (Power).
Velazquez’s TV credits also include Six, Major Crimes and The League.

In Queens, four estranged and out-of-touch women in their 40s reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had as the Nasty Bitches – their ’90s group that made them legends in the hip-hop world.
Brandy will play Naomi. Twenty years ago, Naomi was better known as Xplicit Lyrics the highly skilled musical engine of the Nasty Bitches. A true artist with boundless musical talent Naomi was certain she’d go on to mainstream success after the group’s demise. She hasn’t, singing and playing her guitar in crappy dive bars where all people want is her old persona.
