Industry has little faith in government to resolve the cladding issue

Just 1% of industry professionals have total faith in the government to resolve the cladding issue within two years, according to a webinar poll undertaken by Countrywide Surveying Services (CSS). The poll posed the question, ‘How much faith do you have in the government (north and south of the border) to resolve the cladding issue within the next two years?’ A total of 256 attendees voted with 50% saying they were ‘not confident’, 34% were ‘unsure’, 15% suggested that they were ‘somewhat confident’ whilst only 1% opted for the ‘very confident’ option. This response came from the firm’s monthly webinar series, which revolved around a panel debate on cladding.

The agreement builds on a venture in August 2019, which saw Santander partnered with Countrywide Surveying Services to become the first lender to offer a mortgage product for first-time buyers that included a free condition report, called HomeFact. This digital interactive report gave customers expert advice on the condition of properties they are in the market for. The report also links through to the HomeFact portal for further information about the home’s location, listing such amenities as schools, crime rates, transport and broadband availability.

Countrywide renews partnership with Santander | Mortgage Introducer

This renewal will come as a five-year agreement. In August 2019, Santander partnered with Countrywide Surveying Services to become the first lender to offer a mortgage product for first-time buyers that included a free condition report, HomeFact. HomeFact is a bespoke, digitally interactive report, which provides advice on the condition of a property enriched with property specific data insights. In addition, it also links through to the HomeFact portal for further information about the location, including amenities, schools, crime rates, transport and broadband availability. Paul Wareham, managing director of business-to-business at Countrywide, said: “This renewal represents faith in our proposition and we will continue working innovatively with Santander to deliver a consistently great service for the bank and its customers.”
