Gorum couple with infant in vehicle lead law enforcement on pursuit; stolen AR-15 recovered

Source: NPSO Louisiana State Police and Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Gorum man and his girlfriend in connection with a pursuit in Natchitoches and Rapides Parishes Thursday afternoon. DANIEL RISTER The pursuit began Jan. 28 at approximately 4:40 p.m., when LSP Trooper John Axsom clocked a Ford Focus on stationary radar speeding 101 mph in a posted 75 mph speed zone. The Ford was traveling southbound on I-49 near milepost #116 south of Cloutierville. LSP attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the violator led State Police on a pursuit. It exited I-49 at the Chopin exit, travelled west on La. Hwy 490 into the Janie community, then through the communities of Gorum then Mora in Rapides Parish.

Saline man arrested for attempted murder in RV arson and last updated 2021-01-11 18:42:10-05 The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFM) has arrested a Saline man for setting fire to his relatives’ RV, leaving two people injured. Jeremie Dewayne Aldy, 43, was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on three counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Arson. He was booked in connection with a January 10 fire that happened in the Country Haven Trailer Park. Natchitoches Fire District #2 was called to the Saline trailer park at about 3 p.m. Firefighters found the RV’s three occupants outside; a woman had serious burns, a man had cuts from trying to rescue the woman. A second woman wasn t injured. The two injured victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment and the SFM was contacted to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

(KSLA) - A man is behind bars, facing a charge for his alleged role in a shooting that took place on Christmas Eve in Natchitoches. Joshua Jones, 19, of Simsboro, faces a count of attempted second-degree murder. Officers were called around 8:33 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2020, to the 200 block of Fairgrounds Road regarding a shooting. When they got to the scene, they found a person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
