As much of the country was gearing up for the London Olympics back in 2012, teams at Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and Nottingham Trent University were limbering up for a challenge of a different kind.
We were embarking on an exciting project to launch a live internet feed using high definition cameras focused on a peregrine falcon nest that had been safely perched high on the universityâs Newton Building for the past decade.
In the years leading up to the installation of the cameras we had been worked in partnership with the university to ensure that the nest was protected.

Rubbish has been left scattered across a city park in scenes described as Groundhog Day after large groups were seen partying in breach of Covid rules.
Videos of crowds gathering and dancing at Nottingham s Forest Recreation Ground on Wednesday night have emerged on social media.
It followed appalling scenes earlier this week that prompted the closure of two other city parks, the Arboretum and Lenton Recreation Ground.
Both parks have now reopened.

A fight broke out at the Arboretum on Monday, as crowds gathered to celebrate the easing of lockdown restrictions and the return of the ‘Rule of Six’.
Large numbers of people get involved in the fight and whilst even more surrounded to watch, completely disregarding social distancing rules.
As a result of this, Nottingham City Council has increased police presence and have imposed a ban on drinking alcohol in all public places.

A student has revealed the enormous list of potential side effects that women face while taking the contraceptive pill just so men don t have to wear a condom .
Georgia Shaw, 20, from Loughborough, took to Twitter to share the huge double-sided information leaflet that came inside her packet of the Rigevidon combined contraceptive pill.
The politics student, who attends Nottingham Trent University, admitted that she was scared to take it due to the list of potential side effects.
Her Twitter post has since racked up more than 23,000 likes, but has proved divisive, with some saying women sign up to the risks by choosing to have sex.
