Stanbic CEO Solomon Nyanhongo
Stanbic Bank has appointed its Chief Financial Officer, Solomon Nyanhongo as Chief Executive (CE) with effect from 1 January 2021.
Nyanhongo takes over from Joshua Tapambgwa who leaves after 18 illustrious years with the leading financial services institution.
The Board Chairman of the Standard Bank Group subsidiary, Gregory Sebborn welcomed Nyanhongo to the helm of the institution and was looking forward to his astute management skills to carry the organisation forward. Said Sebborn:

Quantum Design UK & Ireland and Medical Technologies Innovation Facility enter into Partnership Agreement

Quantum Design, UK and Ireland (QD) and Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) are pleased to announce they have entered into a partnership agreement affording customers the ability to view and utilise the JA Woollam IR VASE II Spectroscopic Ellipsometer. Indeed, this is only one of two such instruments in the UK and the only one now made available to customers in the UK in this way.

Innovation research announced for DASA Intelligent Ship Phase 2 competition

The second phase of funded proposals has been announced for the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) Intelligent Ship competition to revolutionise military decision-making, mission planning and automation.
Phase 2 of Intelligent Ship, run by DASA on behalf of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), sought novel technologies for use by the military in 2030 and beyond.
Nine innovative projects have been funded, sharing £3m.
With a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the projects will support the evaluation and demonstration of a range of human-machine teams and their integration with an evaluation environment. Phase 2 will develop AI for wider application across defence platforms.
