Shares0 GLOVERSVILLE – When one fifth-grade teacher in the Gloversville Enlarged School District saw the scores of third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students on their English Language Arts exams from 2019,  she decided she wanted to think more broadly about improving literacy rates and the preparedness of district children.  Those pre-COVID scores showed that proficiency on the exam, which measures reading and writing skills, was reached by 36% of third-graders, 34% of fourth-graders, and 22% of fifth-graders, according to data from the state Department of Education.

Gloversville police looking for ‘person of interest’ in shooting | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS GLOVERSVILLE – City police have named Solomon A. Wilson “a person of interest” in a shooting incident officials say occurred early Thursday morning. “Mr. Wilson may be operating a Gray, 2018 Nissan Pathfinder, bearing New York Registration KGD 7764,” according to a police news release. “Wilson was most recently a resident of the city of Johnstown.” On Thursday the Gloversville Police Department issued two news releases pertaining to a shooting incident they say occurred at 40 6th Ave, Apt. 1. The first news release was put out at 5:20 a.m. and described police being dispatched to the emergency room at Nathan Littauer Hospital at 2:29 a.m. for a report of a man who had been shot.
