Knowles believed many people feared the “worst” after 52 percent of the UK voted to leave the European Union.
But in a rallying cry, he argued that we were a “much better nation than we think” and called for an end to divisions.
He believed there was a “natural good” in the UK and wished the nation could find common ground.
Knowles said: “We hear a lot on the news about disaster [and] people being ripped off or attacked.”
