Over the past year, high school students across the United States have had every aspect of life affected by COVID-19. Securing acceptance to universities is no exception and application deadlines are looming.
“There’s a lot of things I’ve missed out on,” said senior Martin Burgess, who attends La Vergne High School where his father, Martin Burgess, is a science teacher.
High school seniors around the U.S. are facing those application deadlines without SAT and ACT entrance exam scores, community service records and resumes flush with extracurricular activities all casualties of an era of social distancing and remote learning that has carried over from their junior year.
