In filing Senate Bill No. 2015 or the proposed “Vaccine Indemnification Fund Act,” Senator Nancy Binay said vaccine-injury compensation programs are increasingly regarded as an important component of successful vaccination programs and have been used for the past 50 years to ensure that individuals who are adversely affected by side effects are adequately compensated and cared for.
Binay filed the bill as the government prepares for the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program.
“The establishment of vaccine-related injury indemnification system will help increase confidence in the government’s immunization programs and ensure sustainability of vaccine supply,” Binay said in the explanatory note of the bill.
Senator Maria Lourdes "Nancy" Binay on Saturday, Jan. 23, appealed to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to reconsider its decision allowing those aged 10 to 65 years old to leave their homes even as the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease (COVID-19) remains uncontrolled.
