Norwich woman criticises timing of Covid inquiry

Picture: Goodman Family - Credit: Goodman Family A Norwich woman who lost her father to coronavirus has criticised the timing of the government s enquiry into the handling of the pandemic. Jo Goodman, 32, set up the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice group following the death of her father Stuart, 72, at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital last year after he was diagnosed with the virus.  The group has welcomed Boris Johnson s announcement there will be an independent publc inquiry into the handling of the crisis, but said the start date of spring next year is simply too late .

However, he also said that the number of people being treated for Covid-19 at the hospital had fallen into single figures at the Norfolk and Norfolk University Hospital for the first time in months. Tributes paid to North Walsham optician Mike Ling

Published: 7:03 AM February 2, 2021    Tributes have been paid to Mike Ling, a third-generation optician from North Walsham. - Credit: Supplied by the family Tributes have been paid to a much-loved third-generation optician from north Norfolk. Mike Ling - christened Ralph Michael Ling - will be best remembered for his work at the family business RM Ling Optometrists in North Walsham, and for his involvement in heritage and charity groups around the town.  Mr Ling died on January 28 at the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital aged 82, after contracting Covid-19. A statement from his family said: “Mike has been a well known, well loved member of the North Walsham community his entire life.
