NORTHUMBRIA Police has this week paid homage to their hard-working mountain rescue colleagues - all of whom are devoted volunteers and have just finished their busiest year. Every year, they assist police with hundreds of jobs from aiding missing person investigations to performing lifesaving rescue operations. I can t stress enough how valuable an asset our local mountain rescue teams are to our force, said Northumbria Police superintendent Andrew Huddleston.
