People aged between 40 and 50 are being invited to go along (by appointment only) to Ponteland Fire Station. The unit will be there from 10am to 5pm.
Eligible people, those who are the correct age and who live in Ponteland or its surrounding area, should call 01670 337737 until 8pm today (Friday) and between 8.15am and noon tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday to book their slot at the remote vaccination clinic. They can also call from 8.15am on Monday to check if there are any slots remaining.

These large centres operate in conjunction with local vaccination services run by groups of GPs working together in Primary Care Networks and services offered by some community pharmacies.

Joanna Vintis has been appointed as NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group’s first practice link nurse.

She will work for the CCG two days a week while the other three days she will continue to practise as a nurse at Netherfield House Surgery in Seghill where she has worked for the past five years.
NORTHUMBERLAND residents living in rural areas have been offered a lifeline in getting their Covid vaccinations after an NHS trust launched a pilot for a pop-up mobile vaccination scheme. A Ford Transit van has been specially modified with the aim of safely transporting jabs to the most rural parts of the county. The Roving Vaccination Service, which has been set up by NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Cramlington Seaton Valley Primary Care Network, aims to make sure that hard to reach groups and remote communities are not left behind in the vaccination programme. On April 15, 100 people were scheduled to have an injection at Bellingham Fire Station. They have added to a total of more than 200,000 Northumberland residents who have already had at least one dose of the vaccine.
