NORTHPORT, AL Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon was released from the hospital Friday after being admitted to DCH Northport last Sunday for coronavirus symptoms and blood clots.
Herndon, 67, provided the community with updates via Facebook throughout the week and posted on Friday that after a round of treatment and medications, his oxygen levels were great and he would be heading home.

Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon went home on Friday after spending a few days in the hospital following a COVID-19 diagnosis.
The 67-year-old mayor was admitted to the hospital on Sunday for blood-clot-related issues. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier that day.
Herndon provided updates of his condition and treatments on his Facebook page during the week. Friday morning he announced that he was heading home after receiving his morning medications. Thank you all for your nonstop prayers! Thank you to the ones that have been checking on Kay (his wife) and bringing food to the house. You guys are awesome!! Herndon wrote in his Friday post.
