Thomas Hawkes admits downloading indecent images of children A man has admitted downloading more than 2000 indecent images of children. Thomas Hawkes, 38, of Robert Andrew Close, Wymondham, admitted being concerned in downloading indecent images of children on or before April 23, 2020, when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Monday. The court heard there were 488 images in the most serious category as well as some videos with indecent child images. William Carter appeared for the prosecution and Andrew Oliver for Hawkes. Judge Katharine Moore adjourned sentencing for a report and told him that they could not go any further with his case until the report was prepared.

Norfolk man accused of having over 220,000 indecent images

Gary Blyth, 57, of Hawthorn Road in Gorleston, appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court on Wednesday (May 5). He is facing three charges of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child.  The alleged offences include 3,382 Category A images - the most serious - and 22 Category A videos, 3,603 Category B images and 16 Category B videos, as well as 220,773 Category C images and 101 videos. Prosecutor Katherine Houghton told the court that the case was not suitable for a summary trial at the magistrates court.

Essex man appears in court over Nacton attempted murder

A 32-year-old man from Essex has appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court - Credit: Sarah Lucy Brown A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder and kidnapping after a woman was found with stab wounds in Nacton. Christopher Crichton appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court via video link on Wednesday, April 28 following the incident on Monday. The 32-year-old, of Park Street in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, spoke only to confirm his details from Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre during the brief hearing. The case was formally sent to Norwich Crown Court on May 14, with Crichton remanded in custody. He was initially taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre following his arrest, before being transferred to Norfolk to be interviewed on Tuesday.
