Man in court over cyclist s death in crash on A47 at King s Lynn

A man has appeared in court this week charged in connection with the death of a cyclist on the A47 at Lynn last year.
David Bamford, 66, is accused of causing the death of James Pottle by driving without due care and attention.
Mr Pottle, who was 63, suffered fatal injuries in a collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A47, between the Saddlebow and Hardwick roundabouts on the edge of Lynn, on the morning of January 24, 2020.

Bamford, of Roman Bank, Skegness, appeared before Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday. He did not enter a plea to the charge against him.
King s Lynn man denies rape charges

A North Lynn man has denied multiple counts of rape and making threats to kill during a court hearing this week.
He has pleaded not guilty to six charges of rape, plus one of making threats to kill.

A man has appeared in court following a series of arsons in Norwich over the festive period.
Lewis Smith, 28, has been charged with one count of arson with recklessness towards endangering life after a wheelie bin at the Union building in Norwich was set alight on Boxing Day.
Smith, of no fixed abode, has also been charged with three counts of arson, one on December 26 this year, when a wheelie bin belonging to Norwich City Council was set alight.
The two other arsons are said to have happened on December 28, and involve a wheelie bin belonging to Hardwick House as well as an arson at Malthouse Furniture Store in Norwich.

A 35-year-old mother who was accused of murdering her baby daughter has had the charge against her dropped.
Carly Easey still faces a charge of causing or allowing the death of a child, and neglect offences. She had been accused of murdering her daughter Eleanor alongside her husband Christopher in December 2019.
During a hearing in private at Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday prosecutors confirmed that following further medical evidence they would be dropping the murder charge against Carly.
Christopher Easey, 30, remains accused of murder and is also facing charges of causing or allowing the death of a child and child neglect.
