Illustrated children’s book ‘Aphid Attack!’ promotes plant health 17th March 2021
However, a collaboration between one of our PhD students, Josh Joyce, and an illustration student, Lauren Harris continued independently beyond this formal finish and led to an engaging children’s book highlighting the importance of plant health.
The illustrative book tells the story of Billy and his encounter with a plant scientist working to prevent wheat being attacked by aphids.
As part of the International Year of Plant Health, the formal collaboration focused on topics within our Plant Health research programme.

Hundreds of students have returned to the University of East Anglia in Norwich for the first time since lockdown.
But while Norfolk schools and colleges have seen students return to classrooms this week, the majority of university students remain stuck at home.
Only around 350 students have returned to the UEA campus in Norwich this week out of a total more than 17,000.
Most students have been told there will be no face-to-face teaching until April 26 at the earliest, with the exception of some practical courses.

There are two teams - a communal establishments team who will help enumerate hospitals, prisons, student halls of residence, hotels and care homes and then there s our household teams who deal with everything else. It has been a little complex as many students have been living at home and didn t return to their normal term-time address, so there are specific arrangements for students. The idea is that they are counted at their term-time address.
