A man from Mulbarton is accused of assaulting police officers and nurses at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH)

A man has appeared in court charged with assaulting emergency workers including police officers and nurses.
Martynas Dagilis, of Norwich Road, Mulbarton is accused of committing 14 offences on November 28 last year at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).
Norwich Crown Court heard on January 4 that Dagilis physically attacked police seven times, including a pair of officers on two separate occasions.
He is also accused of assault by beating in relation to two hospital site nurses.

The number of people in critical care beds in Norfolk hospitals is up 88pc compared to last winter, revealing how much more pressure the NHS is under this year.
Every winter, weekly reports are released by each hospital showing the amount of beds taken up by patients as they battle the annual winter crisis.
At the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), plans to add up to 80 intensive care beds were put into action this week to help staff cope with the pressure.

A Norwich woman is raising cash to thank critical care staff who are looking after her sick father.
Katie Folkard s dad Edward has been in hospital for a week after being taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, having tested positive for Covid-19.
Mr Folkard, 65, is a father of six, and is currently on a ventilator in the hospital s intensive care unit.
Miss Folkard, who lives off Aylsham Road, in Norwich, contacted the hospital and asked if there was a way any money she raised could be given to the ICU team.
Lockdown rules include only leaving home for a small number of essential reasons.

The latest figures show parts of Norfolk have a higher coronvairus infection rate than some areas of the capital, with hospital beds filling up fast and staff stretched to breaking point.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan declared a state of emergency in the capital on Friday, amid warnings that 1 in 30 people are carrying the virus with hospitals about to be overwhelmed.

When father-of-six and landscaper Jason Seaman was told he was going to lose his leg, he said his biggest fear was not being able to support his family.
But only a month after his amputation, with support from those around him and a prosthetic leg on the way, Mr Seaman is feeling optimistic about the future and hopes to be back at work by the summer.
Having previously been fit and healthy, it was only towards the end of last year when Mr Seaman, owner of J B S Gardening, started suffering with severe pain and swelling in his leg.
