The whole room is bathed in an ecstatic glow. Immediate goosebumps, smiles on every face. After a year of enforced isolation, finally we are
out out again – and it feels really, really good.
This is the UK’s first legal, non-distanced club night since March 2020. The venue is Circus: a massive warehouse on Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock. The line-up includes nightlife titans like The Blessed Madonna and Sven Väth. For 3,000 clubbers, for eight hours only, distancing and masks and hand sanitiser have been thrown out. In their place: hugs, snogs and very little general hygiene.

British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in the past year - even if it was from home due to lockdown. So when the 20-year-old finally performs live for her fans and meets them in person, it might feel a little surreal. It s definitely going to take some adjusting to because most of the fans that I have gained have been under (lockdown) where everything is very much happening across the internet and not having that in-person connection, Parks told Reuters.
Dua Lipa, Arlo Park and Celeste lead the BRIT Award nominations, with three each.
The 2021 Brit Awards will mark the first major indoor music event in over a year as bosses prepare to release 2,500 free tickets to key workers.
In an announcement last month, it was revealed that The Brit Awards will take place in front of a live audience of 4,000 people at London s The O2 on 11 May - six days before the next phase of lockdown lifts.
The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ITV and hosted by Jack Whitehall, will celebrate the return to live music and nominee Dua Lipa has promised those attending that it will be a night to remember .
