Dubai Food Festival 2021 is celebrating ‘Made in Dubai’ entrepreneurs, and has shortlisted homegrown eateries built by visionaries who have given the city unique menus, cafes, restaurants and dining concepts.
These selected eateries have been born and bred in Dubai by Emirati, international and globetrotter chefs (chefs who have travelled widely), who have demonstrated exemplary entrepreneurial and culinary skills.
With more than 200 nationalities in Dubai, it is no surprise that the list includes eateries that serve cuisine from all over the world, some with Emirati adaptation. Not only this, these food entrepreneurs have also contributed to Dubai’s rapid hospitality growth and development.

The promise of a modern food hall should be a wildly intriguing offer for anyone who loves good food and general convenience. Basically: a tonne of great stuff to eat, all in one place.
When Time Out Market opens in early April, it should instantly inject some much-needed life into the Downtown lunch scene that has always felt a bit short on fantastic non-chain options. Now, they – as well as nearby residents and tourists – have 43,000 square feet of standout local and international flavour at their disposal.

Calling all of Dubai’s foodies, there’s a new dining event coming up that you’ll want a seat at. A degustation dinner is taking place and the event will see a collaboration between well-known Dubai chefs Nick & Scott and the chef at Berlin-based restaurant Prism, Gal Ben Moshe.
So first of all, let’s discuss ‘degustation’. Whilst the word may sound a little odd, it means appreciating various food with a focus on the gustatory system. These means using the senses when tasting and often food is served in small portions, perfect for tasting.

Australian favourite Oporto is coming to Dubai in March
Aussies craving a little taste of home will rejoice to know restaurant chain Oporto has announced it will open its first UAE branch in Dubai Festival City Mall in March.
Although the exact date is yet to be announced, residents can soon sink their teeth into the Portuguese-style burgers and flame-grilled chicken that the restaurant is known for.
