Idaho Inspired Dishes at Treasure Valley Restaurants
The Treasure Valley is home to some incredible restaurants with everything from classic to unique cuisine. Today we are going to focus on Idaho inspired dishes that are either newly available or have been local staples for decades. These are some that I found perusing online but I need your help below with ones that I missed and are not mentioned below. If you know a Treasure Valley Restaurant that has a locally inspired dish, or even a fun locally inspired name for a dish let me know below and I will include it in my local Idahoans inspired follow up post later this week.

FIT Show organisers have welcomed yesterday’s ‘Roadmap to Recovery’, as outlined by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Parliament (Monday 22nd February 2021).
The highlighly anticipated 50-page road map will see the Government relax coronavirus lockdown restrictions across England in phases between March 8th and June 21st this year.
FIT Show event director, Nickie West comments: “Like the majority of the country, I watched and welcomed yesterday’s Government outline of our ‘roadmap to recovery’. Whilst we have all learnt that we cannot take any new measures for granted, and that the timeline is ‘contingent on data and not dates’, the roadmap that has been presented appears to be both cautious and realistic. It provides a solid and positive timeline for everyone to work towards.
There is an incredible organization I just found out about called Leap Charities. They specialize in helping those in the less than 50% of income for the areas average. They help in many ways including rental help, going from renter to owner assistance and other ways to help struggling families get into a safe and more permanent living situation.
My favorite things I found out about is the Leap organizations building communities. Working with organizations and donations from our Treasure Valley Community they have been developing affordable housing using upcycled Shipping Containers. The final result is beautiful.

Ada County Has Over $24 Million for Rental Assistance
Even though a new study from the Idaho Department of Labor just came out and showed that Idaho overall is recovering better than most of the US there are plenty of Idahoans who are still struggling and need additional help from the aftermath of the pandemic. From stimulus checks to PPO loans for businesses to tax breaks, there have been some help offered to the individuals most impacted but for many it hasn t been enough. If you are or know someone who is financially suffering in Ada County there is new assistance available for those who qualify.
AAA Idaho did a study and on average in the gem state we had a 20-cent jump, in one month. That is a substantial leap for a 30 day period and the highest jump in the US.
