The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of Odisha Government, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Tuesday approved five major investment proposals to the tune of Rs 1.46 lakh crore in metal and metal downstream sectors, the Chief Minister’s Office said.
These industrial projects are further expected to create 26,959 employment opportunities in the state

BHUBANESWAR : Asserting that the State government has made efforts to use available resources in the best possible way, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari on Saturday said prudent resource allocation in the Budget 2021-22 will set the course for economic revival after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Terming the Budget as welfare and growth oriented, Pujari in his reply to general discussions on Budget said several reform measures have been initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to enhance credibility, accountability and transparency in the budget-making process and it will give an insight into the quality of expenditure.

Bhubaneswar, Feb 23 : The Odisha Assembly on Tuesday expressed concern over the rising fuel price, while the state government said the funds collected through tax is utilised for welfare activities.
Raising the issue of hike in fuel prices through an adjournment motion, the opposition asked the state government to reduce the tax on fuel to reduce the burden on the common man.
The opposition members said that the people of the state are hard hit by the price hikes of essential commodities.
Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati said the BJP government at the Centre is looting the people as the petrol price has breached Rs 100 mark in Malkangiri district for the first time.

Agriculture, health and infrastucture sectors were the thrust of the Odisha government as Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented a Rs 1.7 lakh crore Budget for the 2021-22 fiscal. Besides, tourism and sports also got the highest-ever allocation in the Budget.
Presenting the Budget in the Assembly, Pujari said economy was showing signs of recovery and the state government was expecting to see a growth of about 10 per cent by end of the current year. In a first, the budget was tabled in the assembly through an electronic system using the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA).
