SAN ANTONIO South Texas Veterans Health Care System is administering second dose vaccinations for Veterans on January 30.
Veterans scheduled to receive their second dose this Saturday received their first vaccination on January 9.
These vaccines will be administered at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital and the Frank M. Tejeda Outpatient Clinic. The Kerrville VA Medical Center will not be performing vaccinations on Saturday.
Veterans (65 years and older) that choose to show up at any of the campuses without an appointment will be scheduled for a future vaccination appointment, but will not receive same-day vaccinations due to available supply.
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Veterans can show up or call ahead at (210) 949-9702 to schedule an appointment. Long wait times are expected at each facility. Proper identification is required in order to verify enrollment and schedule both doses (approximately 21 days apart). Veterans can find more information and sign up to receive updates on VA’s .

CF: So far, South Texas VA has received several thousand doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Can you provide a breakdown of where those are going?

MADISON, Wis. –The William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison is now vaccinating veterans at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
Emanuel Voeltz, 81, was first in line. The veteran has volunteered at the hospital for the past six years.
He said he’s honored to get the shot so he can continue to care for patients and pay it forward.
“I look at it as the beginning of a new life,” Voeltz said.
The hospital received its first shipment of the vaccine Dec. 23 and started by administering the shot to frontline staff.

MADISON, Wis. State health officials expect to receive 16,000 doses of Moderna’s vaccine at hospitals and clinics throughout the state this week.
Gov. Tony Evers said in a statement Monday that health officials expect to receive a total of 100,000 in the coming weeks.
“Folks, this is exciting news. The COVID-19 vaccine is an important tool we need to battle this pandemic,” Evers said. “While we do not have control over how much vaccine the federal government allocates to our state, I can promise that we are doing everything we can to ensure that our distribution is fair and equitable.”
