HSE confirm extension to Nenagh Walk In test centre opening

The HSE have this week confirmed an extension to the opening of the free walk-in and drive-through COVID-19 testing site in Nenagh for an additional seven days.
The centre, at the grounds of the former Castlebrand Factory, Tyone, Nenagh (Eircode: E45 TY04) is open from 8.30am to 6pm daily and no appointment is necessary to avail of this service.
Meanwhile, the Public Health Mid-West team can confirm that it continues to monitor a community outbreak in Nenagh of more than 200 cases since April 1 as there have been more than 315 cases recorded in North Tipperary since April 1.

Public Health Mid West has confirmed it is looking into at least 10 such cases.
A department spokesperson, however, said they do not comment on individual cases or outbreaks as to do so would breach our duty of confidentiality to both the individuals and organisations concerned.
In a statement Public Health Mid-West did however explain its role and function in the event of an outbreak at a school or early education setting.
Under legislation, all cases of notifiable infectious diseases, including COVID, are notified to the Department of Public Health.

It s open from 8.30am to 6pm daily, from Tuesday May 4 to Monday May 10 and is an operation led by HSE Mid-West Community Healthcare and supported by Public Health Mid-West.

Ten Covid cases involving children in Limerick primary schools being investigated

PUBLIC Health Mid-West has confirmed it is investigating at least 10 Covid cases involving children attending primary school in Limerick.
After becoming aware of a number of schools with Covid cases in Limerick last week, a media query was sent by the Leader to the Department of Public Health Mid-West. A spokesperson said they do not comment on individual cases or outbreaks. To do so would breach our duty of confidentiality to both the individuals and organisations concerned. Maintaining this confidentiality is not only an ethical requirement for the HSE, it is also a legal requirement under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018, said the spokesperson.

The HSE Mid-West is stepping up its efforts to contain a growth in covid-19 cases in the Nenagh area.
A walk-in testing centre opened at the former Castlebrand factory in Tyone this morning and will run from 8.30 to 6.30 each due until next Monday.
No appointment is necessary – those attending just need to bring photo ID.

Speaking on Tipp Today earlier she said outbreaks have been detected in households, within families, schools and in some workplaces.
