Evangelist Blahyi who was notoriously known as “General Butt Naked” was a fierce and fearless warlord during the civil unrest in Liberia which claimed the lives of an estimated 250,000 Liberians.
MONROVIA – A former notorious Liberian rebel general turned Evangelist Joshua Milton Blahyi, has called on former warlords, including Nimba County Senator Prince Y. Johnson to face a war crimes court in Liberia to account for their individual roles played and the actions of their respective troops which committed atrocities and war crimes during the Liberian civil conflicts.

Since the United States Embassy near Monrovia raised concern over the election of Nimba County Senator Prince Y. Johnson as Chairman of the Committee on Defense, Intelligence and Veteran Affairs, public condemnation has increased with more calls to reconsider the decision.
One of such groups adding but not capitalizing on the U.S. Embassyâs reservations and expression is the Civil Society Human Rights Advocacy Platform, a conglomeration of civil society organizations advocating for human rights and justice with the high wish to see war crimes perpetrators prosecuted.
A statement issued by the group over the weekend indicates that besides concerns by the U.S. Embassy, the act by the Senate to elect a Senator Prince Johnson who has a war record breaches the United Nations Human Rights Protocols.
“I don’t regret anything I did during the war,” he says.
The former leader of the infamous Liberia Peace Council (LPC) rebels, George S. Boley, has made a public declaration that he does not regret any act he and his forces committed during the brutal civil war that claimed over 250,000 lives over a 14-year period.
Boley, who is now Grand Gedeh County District #2 Representative, made the statement in response to an accusation by his fellow lawmaker, Dickson Seboe, of Montserrado County District #16, who accused him (Boley) of killing his (Seboe’s) people in Sinoe during the war. Rep. Seboe, in a verbal exchange with Boley, called for the establishment of a war crimes court where he believes Boley and others who led warring factions in Liberia can be prosecuted and made to account for atrocities they committed against Liberians.
