The two strictly divide time between watching tape and watching movies.
Outside of training, they “try not to talk about it too much,” Dubrovich said.
Kaneshige said finding balance has been a key objective for Dubrovich. She wants to live the life of an Olympic athlete and develop in her career as a marketing account strategist.
“A lot of fencers see it as a one-or-the-other decision,” Kaneshige said. “There’s a lot of pressure, especially when you see your peers going on to do impressive things in their own careers. I give her a lot of credit for taking a chance on herself.”
Shelby County Retired Teachers award scholarships
SIDNEY The Shelby County Retired Teachers Association recently chose two scholarship recipients for its annual scholarships in the amount of $500 each. Recipients of the scholarships are Ethan Pleiman and Allison Roush.
Ethan Pleiman is a 2019 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. He attends Bowling Green State University and will be a junior in the fall. He is a Middle School Education major with a concentration in math and science maintaining a 3.812 GPA. Pleiman is the son of Kevin and Shelly Pleiman.
Roush is a 2019 graduate of Fairlawn High School. She has a dual major in Art Education and Graphic Design at Ohio University and maintains a 3.70 GPA. She will also be a junior in the fall. She is the daughter of Karen and Darrin Ike and Rodney Roush.
Cranford Named Among Top NJ High Schools: U.S. News - Cranford, NJ - The annual ranking released by U.S. News and World Report ranks schools based on factors such as graduation rates and academic performance.
American Legion awards scholarships
SIDNEY One of the Four Pillars on which the American Legion was founded is to provide for the children and youth of the nation. Over the years, Sidney Post 217 has strived to do just that by providing various youth oriented programs and scholarships to help prepare our youth for the future. Scholarships are just one offering provided so that high school graduates have the opportunity to further their education, if they so desire.
The scholarships are offered to students of Sidney High School, Lehman High School, The Christian Academy, Fairlawn High School or any student who has or had a relative belonging to the Sidney Post 217 and is a resident of Shelby County. Selection was made by a committee of members of Sidney Post 217.
