An Indiana man who robbed and killed Detroiters used online dating apps to target members of the LGBTQ community, prosecutors say.
Diabolique Paris Johnson, 24, was arrested in Indianapolis and extradited to Michigan Wednesday to face charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery. There is no hate crime statute based on sexual orientation in Michigan.
Johnson is accused of killing a 39-year-old Detroit man Sept. 5 during an armed robbery. He also robbed a Detroit man at a Dearborn hotel days earlier, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor s Office.
