A Nelson Bay man remains behind bars after charged with supplying drugs in the Hunter region.
Detectives searched a unit on King Street in Newcastle on Thursday and found methylamphetamine, GHB – often known as ‘liquid ecstasy’ – mobile phones and more than $135,000 in cash.
There they arrested a 35-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman, who was wanted for a breach of bail offence.
Both were taken down the road to Newcastle Police Station where the man was charged with a number of offences, including supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
The woman was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and breaching bail.
Earlier in court, the victim courageously faced Hayne to speak her truth.
She described anger, frustration and wanting to end her life. This same sickening feeling resurfaces to this day. I have spent countless hours crying⦠the feeling of violation and feeling dirty doesn t go away. I have nightmares and flashbacks of his face looking right through me. Sometimes I can t get out of bed, the woman told the court.
She revealed being too scared to report the crime at first, fearing repercussions, but praised detectives from the NSW Police Sex Crimes Squad for supporting and encouraging her to speak out.

He then allegedly spat in her direction.
Court sheriffs approached the man and others, urging them to settle down, but the same group later became involved in a scuffle with media as Hayne s pregnant wife was ushered to a car.
One photographer claims to have been pinned against the vehicle and gripped in a chokehold.
Detectives are looking at the vision and speaking with witnesses to determine whether any charges can be laid.
