Coronavirus vaccines THE coronavirus vaccination programme in the district is reaching a crucial stage, one of the area s leading GP s has announced. Dr John Green, the clinical director of the West Northumberland Primary Care Network of GPs, praised the way the public have responded to appointments for jabs at centres in Hexham and Ponteland. The programme is now catering for all adults over the age of 65, and those aged between 16 and 64 in the most vulnerable category. But with previous attendees due to return for their second jabs in the coming weeks, Dr Green said the vaccination centres will increase in capacity to meet demand.
