PROSPERITY, S.C. A Newberry County couple has been arrested after their infant child died with measurable levels of cocaine in the child s body, according to Newberry County officials.
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster said EMS responded to reports of a 4-month-old not breathing and unresponsive on Duckbill Road in the Prosperity area of Newberry County on May 2. The Infant was transported to Newberry Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Newberry County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a multiple vehicle collision on April 23.
Coroner Laura Kneece says Urijah Quick, 22, died from his injuries.
Authorities say the collision happened at the intersection of Bethel Church Road at Seibert Road.
According to officials, they don’t know if Quick was wearing a seat belt in the collision.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Coroner’s Office is investigating.

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Newberry County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a multi-vehicle collision on Monday.
Coroner Laura Kneece says Mary Maner, 76, died from her injuries and was a passenger in a 2015 Buick involved in the wreck.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened on I-26 East at mile marker 83 at 7:20 p.m.
According to investigators, a 2016 Dodge truck struck the Buick, which caused that vehicle to hit a 2017 Acura SUV from behind.
Authorities say after hitting the SUV, the Buick then ran off the left side of the road, hit a bridge rail and struck a 2014 Lexus from behind.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Newberry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of a fatal collision on Friday. The coroner says 51-year-old Daryl Messer died from his injuries after the wreck on Seibert Road, near Leisure Point Road at 11 p.m.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, Messer was driving too fast for conditions when he ran off the road, hit a ditch, overturned and was ejected from his vehicle. Authorities say he was not wearing a seat belt and the incident is under investigation.
