NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Newport News Public Schools Superintendent Dr. George Parker announced Monday an updated timeline for the return to in-person learning.
The timeline plans to bring students back in two phases, beginning with student populations who are most in need of in-person instruction and support.
Self-contained special education students, newcomer English Language Learners, and students in preschool through third grade will return to in-person instruction on Monday, February 22.
Students in grades 4-12, will return on Monday, March 8.
Families who selected virtual instruction for their child will continue with virtual instruction.
